As a part of the Earth Day 2011 celebration, Ecogreen Europe in cooperation with the the Croatian Mountaineering Society Matica, the Croatian Pharmaceutical Society, Hrvatske šume (Croatian Forests) and Green Window NGO are organizing afforestation in Lika. Action will take place on Saturday, 9 April in forest Medak, near Gospić. The organizers wish to contribute to the preservation of forest areas, which are indispensable for humans, and also to educate the public about this topic. Everybody is invited to participate and actively celebrate the Earth Day and the International Year of Forests. Planting trees for a better life on Earth!
Earth Day 2011, The International Year of Forests and EuroEnviro 2011 symposium will be presented at the Energy efficiency and passive construction fair - Natura Dom EEC. Fair lasts from 14 to 17 April, at sports hall Žatika in Poreč.
Exibithion "recycl' art" will be opening at 18:30, at Big hall in Novinarski Dom, Perkovčeva 2, Zagreb. Authors of the exhibition are pupils of French school and their teachers. Visitors will also have an opportunity to see the work of artist Amir Husadžić and photographs of famous French photograph Yann Arthus Bertrand, with the theme of sustainable development.
Journalism awards "Velebitska degenija” will be presented at Novinarski Dom on April 21, 2011. Award is given annually to journalists who provide high quality coverage on the environmental protection subject and this year it is part of the official celebration of the 41. Earth Day.
